People of Saint Mark, 
 
At the beginning of the summer, I began meeting with a team of folks to discern the Mission and Vision of St. Mark. This team (we usually refer to ourselves as the "Vitality Team") has been having important conversations with key leaders of the church, the community, and with each other. 
 
This team consists of Bonnie Tillman, Melisa McDaid, Bill Caughlan, Jenn Kanter, and myself. 
 
Over the past two years, I have been learning from you and hearing your stories. Through our Lent and Advent gatherings, through church-wide programs, in casual conversations, formal surveys, and more, I have heard from you who you are and how you want to serve and care for each other and our community. 
 
I collected that information and shared it with our vitality team - and from your thoughts and reflections, we have developed the four core values of St. Mark. Those four values, along with brief accompanying value statements and scripture references, will help shape the future of our mission and ministry.
 
We have identified these four core values: inclusive fellowship, intentional stewardship, active compassion, and responsive faith. 
 
We want to hear from you! Over the next few weeks, you'll see these values pop up in various places and I will be sending out more detailed information of these values and their implications for our work together. 
 
First, we hope you'll take a few minutes to give us your feedback. You can complete as much or as little as you'd like. We hope you will provide us with your honest thoughts and hopes for the future.
