At the end of the school year, our kindergarten students participated in their annual art show. Ms. Juliet, shared some thoughts about the event.

For the last 2 years I have had the honor of teaching a kindergarten art class at Saint Mark’s. Throughout the school year we do various lessons focusing on the elements of art, different artists and techniques. The students are able to explore their own creativity while learning about the building blocks of visual expression. We dive into color theory, where they learn about warm and cool colors, and how mixing them creates new hues. They get hands-on with textures, discovering how different materials can change the feel of their artwork. We study the works of classic and contemporary artists, which inspires them to create their own masterpieces. By the end of the year, not only have they made art they're proud of, but they've also developed an appreciation for the artistic process and the world of art around them. Each year we conclude with a kindergarten art show, where each student is able to show their families and friends all the work they have created.

We are so grateful to Ms. Juliet, Ms. Sullivan, and all the staff and adminstration of SMCS for their continued support and dedication to this important event!
